Asia Economia Times

We Analyze Economy & Digital

Editorial Standards

How we report, verify, correct, and maintain the independence of our journalism.

Independence

Asia Economia Times operates with full editorial independence. Our news coverage and analytical judgments are made solely by our editorial team, with no input from advertisers, commercial partners, or investors. No sponsor may influence the framing, timing, or publication of any story.

Reporters are prohibited from holding financial positions — long or short — in companies, assets, or currencies they cover. This extends to family members of our staff. Potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed to editors before reporting begins.

Accuracy and Verification

Before publication, every material factual claim must be verified through at least one primary source — a document, official statement, data release, or on-record interview. For significant claims, we seek corroboration from a second independent source.

Numerical data — economic statistics, market figures, financial results — must be traced to their original source. We do not rely solely on secondary aggregators. When official data conflicts with market estimates, we report both and explain the discrepancy.

Sources and Attribution

We name our sources whenever possible. Anonymity is granted only when a source faces genuine professional or personal risk for speaking and cannot provide the information on the record. When we use anonymous sources, we explain to readers why anonymity was granted.

We do not publish information from sources who are granted anonymity in exchange for access. Background conversations and off-the-record briefings inform our understanding but do not substitute for attributed reporting.

Corrections Policy

We correct factual errors promptly and transparently. Corrections appear at the top of the affected article with a clear explanation of what was wrong and what the correct information is. Minor wording corrections for clarity may be made without notice; all substantive factual corrections are labeled.

To report a factual error, contact our editorial desk at corrections@asiaeconomiatimes.org. We aim to review all correction requests within 48 hours.

Opinion and Analysis

We clearly distinguish between news reporting, data-driven analysis, and opinion. Opinion pieces are labeled as such and represent the views of the named author, not the editorial position of Asia Economia Times. Analysis pieces may include the reporter's interpretation of events but are grounded in reported facts.

Sponsored Content

We occasionally publish sponsored content in partnership with companies and organisations. All sponsored content is clearly labeled as such — it is visually distinct from editorial content and does not appear under our standard article format. Sponsored content is never written or edited by our news team.

Privacy and Harm Minimisation

We do not publish the private details of individuals who have not chosen public roles. In reporting on financial crimes, regulatory proceedings, or personal circumstances, we weigh the public interest against potential harm to individuals and families.
